Travel Post: Courtyard & Residence Inn by Marriott, L.A. Live for Anime Expo 2014

Yup, we stayed at the newest hotel in the heart of downtown LA!
Read on to see it's worth the hype! ^^
These pictures are a mix of the days we stayed at the hotel.
We checked in the 2nd of July and checked out on the 6th.

If you choose the room with the kitchen, you're at the Residence Inn!
And OMG, they're definitely complete! This was perfect for our stay which went on a span of about 5 days! We were able to cook up some food for our days in Anime Expo and bring super cold water to fight the LA heat. I also love how the room is so big, plus it has a sofa-bed, too! And oh, wifi here is great and there are so many convenient electric sockets! Teehee.

This place is so pretty! And they have so much delicious breakfast food... on Day 0, at least. When Day 1 of Anime Expo rolled in, there was a surge of people. I felt like they weren't ready for the sudden increase of people because, as pretty as how the buffet set-up was made, it made it more prone to having to line up. Plus, the food wasn't coming in fast enough. And even if you're already at the place at 6:30 sharp, there was already a line of hungry early birds. You would have to pile on food on your plate (or two!) so you would avoid lining up again! Oh, even coffee ran out really fast! And by the way, they did use breakable plates and cups on Day 0, but they immediately switched to either black plastic (as seen above) or styrofoam utensils because people kept breaking them! Tsk, tsk, tsk. But anyways, I always look forward to their awesome breakfast despite the line! :D

The video of the gym is in a vlog I need to edit & post up. But if you check out my instagram (@beekyoote), you'll see a crazy video of us practicing... but mostly going crazy at the gym! Ha!
Final thoughts?
This is one great hotel! It may need some modifications in it's system of the breakfast buffet, but it is fine in not-so-busy days. It's only two blocks away from the Los Angeles Convention center, a cross the street to L.A. Live plaza, and not very hard on the feet at all! You don't need to worry about getting a ride to the convention (Anime Expo in our case). We can go "home" to the hotel when we need to change. All in all, great! I would come back to this hotel for Anime Expo next year!
