Skinfood Mushroom BB Cream

Once again, I apologize for the abused product in the picture. I know better now to take pictures of any product before they get to this state...

What it does:

This triple-function BB cream provides UV protection and deep moisturization to skin with aloe and mushroom extracts, while arbutin and adenosine make skin clear and resilient.

What I like:

Light to semi-medium coverage. .
Soothes out my bumpy skin texture.
Most of the time, I don't need to use a moisturizer prior to application.
SPF 20 PA+.
Looks natural as time passes. Doesn't oxidize too dark on me.
No break outs. I think my skin looks healthy with this!
Whitens the face a bit.
Can actually be used for photo shoots!

What I don't like:

Has a white cast upon application.
Slightly thick consistency.
Packaging cap is made of paper material which makes it easily abused after a period of time.
May have a slight pink undertone to it.
The smell isn't exactly awesome but I find it tolerable (Sort of mushroom-like???).
Needs a dark face powder in order to suit a tan person like me!
May show some dry patches for dry skin types.

What I say:

I actually like this BB cream! I've had oily skin in the Philippines but I would always use this then due to its coverage. Yes, I would blot once in awhile but not too many times to be annoyed! I also have used this through most of the time since I got back in the U.S. even for my photo shoots! I set this with my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Dark and I don't have to worry about the white cast! I also remember my friend asking me if I've used concealer (as she stared carefully at my face) but I haven't! My sister (also the photographer) said she likes the BB cream on me because when she zooms in to my face there is barely anything to edit out even if my skin is far from perfect! I also utilize this more because I felt like this was somewhat one of the darker BB creams I had in my collection especially in comparison to my Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream No. 21 despite the somewhat pink undertone.

This was purchased from the Skinfood Branch at SM MOA in the Philippines. I forgot the prices there but I'm sure its definitely ridiculously overpriced. According to one online shop I trust, this costs less than P800. Would I buy this again? Definitely! But I still got a lot of other BB creams to use up before purchasing another...!

Missha M Perfect Cover B.B Cream

Missha M Perfect Cover B.B Cream offers a novel skincare concept with B.B cream, which lightens skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin cover ability, and prevents skin aging through effective whitening and anti-wrinkle properties.

It looks more than half empty, missing its cap, and slightly abused because I've had this for awhile now. I got this baby via Girltalk's Beauty Bazaar pre-loved... I even have a post the day I got it in my old blog. I forgot how much I bought it for but I'm pretty sure it wasn't more than 500PHP (or $10). The US Missha site sells it for $29 and according to my trusted ebay seller in the Philippines, it costs 920PHP for this size.

What I Like:

Has a pump! Super Hygienic.
50 ML!!! A regular foundation only has 30 ML.
The consistency is light and almost watery but will not drip down if you place it on the back of your hand.
Moisturizing even without applying moisturizer prior to this.
Does not feel heavy the skin at all! Feels like you're not wearing makeup.
Medium to almost full coverage with just one pump! No pits, barely any bumps, no lines, and covers my post-acne scars better than foundation (makes it look more natural).
My skin tone is improved significantly! I look better instantly!
My skin looks brighter and glowing.
No cakey-ness at all! Blends in like a dream.
SPF 42 PA++.
I think my skin became whiter and better when I used this back then.
Long-lasting even in the Philippine setting.
Your skin but waaaaaaay better look!

What I don't like:

The price! I was lucky to buy this, you know. I was online most of the time checking the forums often to see an interesting buy come up. Things like these sell like hot cakes once its out on the market! I got it at a low price and it was almost full! The price provided by my trusted ebay seller is actually not bad in comparison to the price the US Missha site offers! But if you are a student, this may be quite expensive (been there! done that! LOL).
The shade! No. 21 is the lightest shade... I'm an NC43! Sadly, my MAC Minirelize Skinfinish isn't dark enough to make this fit the rest of my body at the moment. But I did use this a lot last year when I was really fair (I decided to tan this year).
It oxidizes over time. This could be a good thing if you're a little darker than NO. 21... It starts out really white then it will match your skin as minutes pass by (unless you're too tan like me!).
The smell. I heard there were many complaints to this strong scent but I actually don't mind.
It may cause breakouts. It blends into the skin so well that it looks like second skin but if it is not washed off properly then a break out may occur. Although I never broke out!
The white cast in flash photography. Due to its high content of SPF, it reflects white when a flash goes off in pictures.
If you have dry patches, it may be emphasized. I never had a problem with this in the Philippines, though.
Oil control is average. You'll blot in a few hours but not to the point it gets unbearably greasy and disgusting.

When I say oxidize, I meant to say it changes color due to the reaction to your skin.

The light beige creamy substance turns grayish after 30 mins.
