WHAT'S IN MY TRAVEL MAKEUP BAG?

I just uploaded a video about what I brought during my travels from San Francisco to LA! It was filmed last May... so, sorry again if this is late! :D

FORT ORD DUNES STATE PARK

FORT ORD DUNES STATE PARK
If you've seen my COR SURF Waterproof Backpack post, I'm pretty sure you'll have read it was my first time checking out Fort Ord Dunes State Park! Jimmy & I were running out of time to find a good place to shoot for my blog, so I looked up lists of best beaches or hike spots, and this appeared to be one of the closest ones. It is located in Marina, CA and have never thought this place existed. I'm sure glad the pressure was on... so we ended up visiting somewhere new! Go on and read more to see what went on in out quick trip!

ONE OK ROCK @ Monster Energy Outbreak Tour 2016, San Francisco

ONE OK ROCK @ Monster Energy Outbreak Tour 2016, San Francisco
Last Friday, ONE OK ROCK performed at The Regency Ballroom, San Francisco! They were the second lineup out of four bands for the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour and it was their first stop out of many more!

PHILIPPINE VACATION 2015

Finally, I got all the vlogs out for our trip the Philippines last year! It's a big  deal for me because my family and I don't go home as much as we want. And it matters to me most, because after spending four years of university there, most my long time friends are there! This trip was really short and mostly last minute... so we didn't do as much as we wanted to do. Our off days contained practicing for our dance video & performance for our family party. If you want to see the breakdown of our trip, keep reading!

The Oriental Legazpi

The Oriental Legazpi, Legazpi City, Albay, Philippines

Here's another travel post that was meant to go up about half a year ago and probably one of my favorite! Prior to our short visit to the Philippines, my sister & I planned staying at one of the most popular hotels in our hometown, The Oriental Legazpi. When I was younger, it used to be another popular hotel back in the day but a fire closed it down. They re-opened and was the talk of the town! Finally, my sister and I took a chance to actually stay a night and experience what they had to offer that time around.

MANILA HOTEL

MANILA HOTEL
Last June 2015, my younger sis and I took a looooong journey to the Philippines. We booked Asiana Airlines...and that flight gave me a terrible migraine. No, not for the quality... but for the crazy delays! We were delayed 15 hours and many times (the Korean passengers were rallying like crazy!)... that when it got to Manila, we missed our flight to Legazpi. Thankfully, I've told the crew in Incheon, S. Korea (our first stop) that we have a flight and the crazy delays might make us miss it... turns out it did. So, Asiana Airlines gave us a free night at  Manila Hotel! Woot! As you see above, I'm just happy to be on the ground and having a decent bed to sleep on, I was awake 24 hours my original flight time because of procastination (hahaha :/). But I'm not really ecstatic about the quality of the photos we took... that's why it took me awhile to get this us. But you know what? Whatever! Here it is, our stay at Manila Hotel!

VEGAS 2015 Day 2

It's Travel Tuesday and I still have loads to share about my Vegas trip! I actually did a lot of traveling this year and will eventually get to all it... but for now, come with my sisters, friend and I as we go walk down the famous Las Vegas Strip. It's the street where all the big hotels are lined up.. and if you know Vegas, you'll know that they go big or go home! It's also not my first time here, but it's the first time I may have decent pictures and a pretty good vlog of! Seriously, I lugged my heavy dslr (we all did actually) and I made a video of our adventures that I'm really proud of! Make sure to watch it down below because it shows a lot of what we did, but don't forget to check out some of the pictures I took also in this post!

VEGAS 2015 DAY 1

Here's part one of our weekend at Vegas at the start of the month... We traveled from Monterey to Las Vegas and end up in our hotel, the Luxor. Excuse my chatty-ness. I'm trying a more minimalistic approach in vlogging, but I like to talk, I guess. We also go to the Safe in Sound Festival at the end of the night! Tiring, but fun! You can either watch it down below or check out my pictures ^^

So here's the second video we shot while we were at Vegas the other week!

MUST BE NOW in VEGAS!

NMB48 "MUST BE NOW" DANCE COVER MV
It's been a week since I came back from Vegas for the BIG BANG Made Tour. As much as we partied the three days we were there, we made sure to also film a highly requested video! Yup, in the midst of the busy Strip, I did the longer dance cover version to NMB48's MUST BE NOW!

Today's post will be the first "Travel Tuesday" that will be featuring parts of my vacation/return to my home country last June! Yup, I was in the Philippines for three weeks! And this is one of the many places I've been to, particularly in my hometown, in Legazpi! As soon as I arrived, talks with friends came about where we should reunite and, hands down, Koffee Klatch was the number one spot all my friends suggested we meet at. They kept saying it was the newest and hottest spot in to chill at in Legazpi. My friend, Jam, said they had also the best options that came in an affordable price. So here's a description of the place from their Facebook page:
Koffee Klatch café is a great place to hang out with barkada. Its easy to find without getting lost. From Legazpi downtown ride a jeepney to Washington Drive(Rawis A or Altrnate Rd.) and if you are from Daraga downtown take the Rawis B or Alternate Rd going to Washington Drive. The Cafe is located across Pares King restaurant and Mercury Drugstore and close to Aquainas Hospital. And don't forget to try our best seller Kiwi Mango coolers. Stay cool in summer Koffeirs!!!
Read on to see what went down on our first visit!

This particular visit was to meet the sister of Gabby's (my sister) bff. This was also our first destination as soon as we landed Legazpi!

Koffee Klatch de Legazpi Co.
The size of the place is fair and had a lot of chairs and tables set up. It also has an outdoor area.

Koffee Klatch de Legazpi Co.
As for the menu, they have a lot to offer! It goes from everything coffee-based to a lot of fruity options! The best part? The prices are definitely not bad at all!

As for our order? Watch out for the food porn down below!

We had the Mango Shake, Strawberry Shake, Oreo Cheesecake, Strawberry Butter Cake and the divine looking Mango Tango with that Strawberry pretzel on top! It may have taken awhile for our orders to come out, but they all were very delicious. The presentation came in tall glasses which was a plus. Extra class is a yes.

This coffee shop provides wifi, but on that particular day the people working there didn't give us the right details...so my sis & friend moved to La Mia Tazza that day. But yes, they do provide a wifi connection which I learned in my next visit. They also have a good selection of books that you can choose from when you just really want to sit back and relax somewhere asides from your home. Their description says, this place is located right by Aquinas Hospital (where I used to go have my clinicals at during Nursing school). It is also within walking distance from Divine High School... My point is, this place gets really packed when the late after all the way to closing time! If you want to be seen, this place is popping and you might want to be there. Seriously, the evenings I find myself there, both the indoor and outdoor seating is packed. The combination of the ambiance, food & drink selection & prices, and location does makes this one of the popular places to hang out in Legazpi, as I have concluded in my short visit back home. If you didn't want to read my narrative about this place, let me break it down for you here:

GOOD
food & drink selections
affordable
number of seating (when not packed)
ambiance
located along the main road
wifi connection
a spot to relax in the morning
a spot to catch up with friends
friendly staff
air conditioning
cool books for your entertainment

NOT SO BAD
no parking space
no outlets for your laptop
slightly slow service
crowded during late afternoon/evenings
doesn't stay open till or past midnight

The place where I stayed at was walking distance and so I was able to meet my friend, Jam, here another time, late one evening:
Koffee Klatch de Legazpi Co.
All in all, go to this place if you want to catch up with friends and chill like we did!

Before I forget something...
Shout out to the reader I met during my first visit! I wish I had a picture with you, I honestly blanked out because no one has ever approached to ask if I was "BEEKYOOTE" and tell me they read my blog! It felt like I was starstruck at the moment! HAHA! Silly me, but that how I felt! If you're reading this, leave your social media details and blog details (if you have one)! That moment really made me happy! Thank you!

Solvang: A Little Danish City in California

Solvang, California
Over the past weekend, my family & I went down to a little Danish city down south called Solvang. We were touring our aunts who are visiting us from the Philippines, but this ended up as an experience for myself also... it's my first time there! My parents actually visited this place three years ago during my vacation in the Philippines for their anniversary.

Solvang (Danish for 'sunny field') is a beautiful little city nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley of California. Founded in 1911 by a small group of Danish teachers, Solvang now is a diverse, modern city, with fine restaurants, lovely shops and outstanding activities to enchant young and old alike. There are Danish festivals, quiet tree lined streets, horse drawn wagons, Hans Christian Andersen Park, windmills, Danish pastries and dozens of quaint shops to explore. Solvang was incorporated as a city on May 1, 1985 and now has a population of approximately 5,385.
More info on Solvang, here

Here's our afternoon in this pretty place and my attempt to use my dslr!
Yup, I tried not to be lazy this time, haha!

And we ended up having afternoon tea here!
This place gets really crowded... it must the cute decorations, welcoming staff, and the yummy food & tea. My parents led everyone here because they had their date here from before, too. Big thumbs up for this bakery! The Napoleon (as pictured above) was delicious and paired well with tea. Gabby had hot tea while I had mine with ice. If you plan on coming to Solvang, you can rest up and enjoy some treats with tea here!

The place was full of tourists and wedding parties (a lot of 'JUST MARRIED' signs on cars)! This reminded me of our very own Cannery Row in Monterey whith of course a Danish theme instead. I definitely felt like I just visited Denmark! The place itself is very inviting to tourists considering the ambiance and the free public parking! There's a lot of sights to see and food to enjoy here! By the way, it gets confusing if this place is Dutch (Netherlands) or Danish (Denmark) due to the different check-in options on social media, but as their website says, this place is Danish.
